Pop Sugar Must Have Monthly Subscription Box July 2014

The July 2014 Pop Sugar Must Have Monthly Subscription Box arrived.

Now, the goods included inside the July 2014 Pop Sugar Must Have Box ($111.96 retail value):

1. Michael Stars Sea Grass Crusher-retail $48. It does have several loops with straw coming out (poor quality!). And, ugh, horrible smelling! Although “one size”, it is a bit small. Off to Goodwill it goes!

2. Dang Toasted Coconut Chips 1.43 oz -retail $2.99. Very tasty!

3. French Bull Salad Servers-retail $12. Not my taste, but a practical item.

4. ACME Party Box Company 24 Count Paper Straws -retail $6. It will be interesting to see how these hold up in liquid since they do not appear to be coated… We’ll crack them out at the next family gathering and see how they work out.

5. TKO Glacier & Ash Soft Grip Jump Rope -retail $14 (best guess based on eBay). I cannot try the rope out since I have been told to cut back on exercise temporarily.

6. Sun Bum Broad Spectrum SPF 30, 3 fl oz-retail $11.99. Unfortunately, I have reactions to the sunscreens used in this product so it will be given away.

7. Sun Bum Cool Down Soothing Aloe Lotion with Vitamin E and Cocoa Butter, 3 fl oz – retail $7.99. Smells wonderful!

8. De ja vu! I just got this in the Beauty Army box: Revlon Bold Lacquer Length & Volume Mascara in 001 Blackest Black at 0.24oz ($7.99 at my local drugstore) with $1.00 off coupon

This is the second box I have received recently without the insert describing the details of the items in box. Not one of my favorite boxes, but it did have some nice items.

If you are interested in signing up for their monthly box, subscription prices vary but at an estimated price of $40, the retail of the boxes typically exceed the value you pay. Please consider using my referral link at http://popsu.gr/rtJb. I do not receive cash for referrals, but after a certain number, I qualify for a box. I do appreciate any and all purchases through the referral links as I do not monetize this blog.

If you were not lucky enough to get one of these boxes, you might want to consider searching eBay and other auction sites for subscribers looking to unload these great items.

Julep Maven Monthly Subscription Box June 2014

The June 2014 Julep monthly box arrived today. The box contained some great full size products.

IMG_3658

It contained (total retail value $44 without including the candy and add-on):

Bare Body Milk (retail $24) and Mint Condition Pedi Creme (retail $20). I love the pedi creme which is a repurchase for me. It smells great, and it does a nice job. The body lotion is a new product, smells nice, and I am looking forward to trying. I was unable to resist ordering one of their discounted add-on’s with the box: Bare Body Polish (retail $26). I look forward to also giving it a try. If you love Tootsie Rolls, you would have loved this box. It also contained two of the candies in patriotic wrappers. I am allergic to this candy so my husband will gladly eat them.

This box also contained a coupon code that can be used once per customer: GOBARE for 30% off Bare Body Polish or Body Milk, expiration July 31, 2014. Another code that I think can only be used by mavens, but can be used twice per customer is PERK1020 for $10 off a $20 or more julep.com order, expiration July 31, 2014.

Julep Maven is one of my favorite subscription boxes. One reason is that you are given different box styles to choose from each month. The box cost is only $19.99, but if you wanted discounted extras (add-on’s) they are also offered at selection time. On top of that, if you don’t like any styles, no big deal. You skip the month at no cost. Plus, they have a reasonable rewards program that gets you free boxes after you accumulate enough points, which are given every time you purchase a box. It’s a well thought out program with very nice products. If that’s not enough, you get 20% off on most purchases plus access to their secret sale (when you purchase that month’s box).

I am adding a referral link, if you are interested: http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/173982/. Use of the link is greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind I receive points if you decide to sign up, but not any cash. If enough points are accumulated, I can redeem for a box.

3. Phyto5 Pigmentation Cream at 0.17oz – retail estimated based on full-size at $7.29

4. Vincent Longo Lip & Cheek Stain in Liquid Kiss at 0.09oz – retail based on full-size estimated at $0.51.  Super excited to try this pretty product!

What I like about Beauty Army is they have the option to skip a box and give you some flexibility in choosing what you want each month. Subscription prices vary based on price, but it is approximately $12 a month.

Glossybox USA Subscription Box June 2014

The June 2014 Glossybox monthly box arrived. This month’s box was a patriotic red and white strip with blue and white stars on the lid.

IMG_3622

It contained:

1. $5 Coupon Gift Card for C Wonder. This was actually labelled as a contest card. I “won” $5 that does not even cover shipping & handling. Thanks, but no thanks C Wonder. A free shipping coupon would have been better…

2. Sample 1.35 oz Camille Beckman Imperial Repair Hand Therapy Lemongrass Vert & Sparkling Grapefruit -retail $10. Smells great!

3. Mini unsized Strange Beautiful Colorbloc red and blue nail polishes -retail unknown. Ugh, blue…

4. Sumita Champagne Eye Shadow Pencil .084oz -retail $18. I like their eyeliners, and I am thrilled to try their eye shadow pencil.

5. Rusk Texture Dry Finishing Spray 1.5oz -retail $3.38. I have the full-size, and I am excited to have an extra travel size!

6. Ayres Patagonia Body Butter Sample 1oz -retail $4.15.

The grand total on this box was $40.53. A good deal given that the subscription box price varies based on plan, but generally is approximately $20. I do not have an affiliate link for this subscription box like other bloggers, but I do have a referral link, http://www.glossybox.com/referal?CI=NzE2OQ==, where if five people sign up I get a free box. If you use the link, that would be greatly appreciated, but you can always sign up directly through glossybox’s website.

I do recommend using the Ebates service to get cash back if you sign up and do not want to use the referral link (it looks like they cannot be combined). If you are not an Ebates member, please consider using my referral link: http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=7SGQDlJH. Please keep in mind I receive a credit if you decide to sign up, and it will be $5 per their FAQ. It would be greatly appreciated, as I do not monetize this blog. Either way, I recommend you sign up if you make any purchases over the Internet, since you might as well get cash back through their links!

IMG_3398

The Influenster Spring Fling Vox Box contained complimentary products for testing purposes:

1. Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara #RetroGlam

Surprising good!  Lashes nice and dark.  Given the low price, I would buy.

2. Kiss Everlasting French Nails #everlastingfrench

Not my thing, but they look nice enough.

3. Peach Pie Car Freshener from the Labor Day Movie #LaborDayMovie

A nice freebie!  I will being putting in my car after I “spring clean” it next week.

The smell is off-putting…

Nice body lotion with no offensive odors.
